And as I bleed I'll bleed for you (1987)

And as I bleed
I'll bleed for you
knowingly
the strength
this bud my heart holds;
As the silver laced leaves
born from the cold of a night gone
twinkled like stars in a sunlit sky;
Imagination being the reality
holding the piercing glare
as each faced a maker
of whom they held;
No eyes of which to see;
And this cold time
was thus
my time born
my eyes opened
to see the life that would come.
What purpose was I to know
would take these leaves
season
to season
only to fall
and cover my head
with the warmth
of a love
I
had never known;
To give them back
as time
gave me life
over
and over
again.
