Clinging to the dawn of a dusk passed (5/7/86)

Clinging to the dawn
of a dusk
passed;
I
will see
in a setting
never failing
the sun
of all yesterdays.
And as have I touched
each memory
laced
with the beauty
my mind sees;
I will live
a compassion
my heart feels;
And I will brace
for you
with this sight
my love;
Though
in my need
even for you
my person
cannot live forever;
Yet I
will be standing
a shadow
I hope
in you;
Gesturing
a time
has not ended.
For through your heart
I
will capulate a rememberence
in it's own self
void
of ever perishing.
And by chance
my name
you
should call;
I
will touch you
with the passion
of the fire;
I will leave.
