I have shadowed (3/22/86)

I

                                            have shadowed

                                the tears

                                            that have fallen

                               as deep 

                                  as blood;

                                   From the eyes of life;

                 Containing

                                                the colorlessness

                                          of clear purity;

I

                                    have given

                                         my love as so.

         Never

                                                has it failed to give

                              and gain

                                       even as taken

                                        in no meaning 

                                            insite of my own;

                   And to yearn

                                   life will pass

                                not by me

                                          but through me.

                                For the touch of birth

                                            bid me with love;

                             Opening a promise

                                          my heart to feel;

            What not

                                                 my eyes always see.

                           And I have found

                                            the face reflected

                                   by no mirror;

   Yet;

                                    I have seen.
