Reckoning to come (3/15/88)

Reckoning to come;
And of whom's face
will you have carved
to leave
the shadow you have left
as
you lived.
Was it mine
as time took
the being given;
Turning it
through the washed pure love
of a world
you
begot me to know?
Did your tender smile
bring the hidden tears
of no shame;
And could time itself
be the seed
the sun has sown
in the warmth
of a blood
that heals my wounds?
Wondering through the petals
already fallen;
I know
of whom's feet
the barefoot soles were
of which
I was carried.
Yours
as when we were "as one"
I
could not stand;
And ours
as your love
sought the ground
your own heart
gave
into mine.
