Shimmering ice blue water (4/20/86)

Shimmering ice blue water
left
in a basin
by time
stood
as I looked
for the reflection
I
thought I knew
so well
of a face of mine
so still;
As I traced
each line of feature
remembering the crevasse
each tear
had fallen from;
Every smile
given
as the token of happiness;
I saw
the you
I love so much
through the shadow
I threw.
For my face
of so many
countless moments
resides
in the thought of you;
And God
has touched my life
with your love;
Giving to me
now
what years
seemingly forget
as they pass
as days
and moments.
And as the sun falls
so does the shadow of time;
Reflecting
in a face
a halo
of lingering memories;
Left
will be
the scar of emotion
on me
for you
also
to see.
