For James Duncan, it's flowers all the way
James Duncan, 410 Bickett Blvd., figures your yard is a reflection of your personality. And he's a pretty upbeat fellow.
So Duncan, who owns two Raleigh pet shops, planted a "couple of hundred" daffodils and dug a fish pond in the back yard. The whole yard, on which he has worked for nine years, is nothing but rocks and flowers- there's no grass.
Blooming at various times are peonies, mullen pinks, foxglove, primroses, columbine, daylilies, oxalis, phlox and tulips.
"The prettiest time is right around the first of May, when most of the iris come out," he says.
